STMicroelectronics acquires Somos Semiconductor

CARA AVOCATS assisted the target (Somos Semiconductor) for all tax matters linked to the acquisition by ST Microelectronics. Their primary objective was to ensure the revenues retrieved as part of the sales of intangible assets would not jeopardize the application of the favorable French tax regimes in place and which constitute a critical aspect of the entire financial strategy pursued by the company. This project was spearheaded by Terence WILHELM, PhD, Attorney and Managing Partner of CARA AVOCATS.STMicroelectronics, one of the world leaders in electronic components and more particularly in semiconductors, has completed the acquisition of the business and assets of Somos Semiconductor (Somos).Somos is a “fabless” semiconductor company (without integrated manufacturing unit) specialising in power amplifiers, particularly for the Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G markets.
