She joins a strong, energetic and growing team and we look forward to her contribution to the future success of the practice.” DLA Piper Makes Real Estate Partner Hire in Birmingham Allen & Overy announced that Bartosz Targański, PhD, joins the competition law team in Warsaw as an external consultant on 1 October 2019. Bartosz Targański, PhD, is a legal adviser with 14 years’ experience in competition law, gained in international law firms as well as in the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, in cartel cases, merger controls, distribution agreements and dominant position. Bartosz Targański has represented undertakings before antitrust authorities in the most complex cases in recent years. He has also conducted many competition compliance audits. His successes in these fields have been possible due in part to his economic competence (PhD in Economics). Bartosz Targański’s special area of interest is the application of competition rules in the digital economy. He is the author of many publications in this field, including an article called Protection of competition in the operation of e-commerce platforms (Ochrona konkurencji w działalności platform handlu elektronicznego), which received a distinction from the Polish Center for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies.
