A major talking point this month has been the whirlwind of Brexit announcements and votes happening in Parliament and with the end in sight, but no conclusion announced, I decided to explore the laws which the EU impose, which could change the way businesses work after 29 March. With cyber-security being a constant concern, we hear from Malcolm Taylor, Head of Cyber Security at ITC Secure who reveals ways law firms should evolve to survive dreaded security hacks. Sexual harassment is still heavily discussed, so we got in touch with experts to discuss how law firms should manage sexual misconduct in the #metoo era, as well as how businesses should handle such cases in line with employment laws and regulations. Our cover story this month is all about Trusts. We speak to Paula Myers who is the National Head of the Will, Trust and Estate Disputes team at Irwin Mitchell; she talks about which trust and probate issues are likely to turn contentious, and the unspoken dangers of constructing a DIY will. As always, we feature the latest moves and legal news, as well as the globe’s top M&A deals. I hope you enjoy this edition, and I will see you next month! A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
