The transaction is a rare example of a DSA (Disciplina Sportiva Associata) transforming into an FSN, which has come after lengthy scrutiny by CONI and testifies to the significant results achieved by FederKombat in terms of its international recognition, aggregation of sports organisations involved in these combat sports, development of the relevant disciplines, and medals awarded. The transformation also allows a number of sports organisations that were unrecognised before to build closer ties with CONI through FederKombat.
FederKombat’s transformation from DSA to FSN is also remarkable for its focus on non-Olympic sports disciplines and having been completed without a prior or simultaneous aggregation with another sports body.
