iPhone 17 Air Leak Reveals Stunning Design Overhaul – Here’s What’s New.

Apple is set to release four new iPhones this fall, all featuring the number 17 in their name. But one appears to be attracting most of the attention — a super-slim phone nicknamed iPhone 17 Air. A new leak shows how it might feel in the hand.

The information comes from the well-known leaker Majin Bu, who shared an image on Friday, April 5, showcasing a 3D model of what the upcoming phone might look like, held in someone's hand. While the model is entirely in blue, it effectively conveys the overall design. The back features the recognizable MagSafe design, and you can spot the Action Button and dual volume buttons on one side, with the Side Button located on the opposite edge.

What stands out most in this new image is the top of the phone. It's rumored that the new device will be approximately 5.5mm thick, which is impressively slim, aside from the typical camera bump that we see on most smartphones. Although the iPhone 17 Air is expected to have just one camera, the camera panel is believed to extend across the entire width of the phone, similar to the raised panel found on the Google Pixel 9 Pro, for example.

However, while the elevated bar on the device is justified by the additional camera lenses hidden away, here we only see the lens on the left, with the flash and microphone positioned on the right. Additionally, the camera lens protrudes even more from the raised section, likely due to the physical requirements of the phone.

The design necessitates that the lens and sensor maintain a specific distance to ensure light properly covers the entire sensor. I must admit, the wide panel catches me off guard, but I’ll hold off on forming a final opinion until I can examine the completed product. What stands out positively is the panel's gently curved design — it doesn’t have a harsh, abrupt edge. The curves give the impression that the panel is naturally emerging from the device.

The attractiveness of this phone largely hinges on the effectiveness of its design, making it crucial for Apple to nail it. While its slim profile is sure to catch attention, the overall aesthetic of the phone remains a topic of discussion.
