Phenna Group Acquires A-Star Testing & Inspection
Nottingham-based testing, inspections and certification firm Phenna Group has completed a cross-border deal to buy Singapore-based A-Star Testing & Inspection, marking the second of Phenna’s acquisitions this year and its first in Singapore.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Founded in 2008, A-Star Testing & Inspection employs 300 people and maintains its headquarters in Singapore and regional offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, India and other nations. Phenna Group CEO Paul Barry cited A-Star’s reputation as market leaders in Asia as a strong motivator for the transaction. “This landmark deal, our first partnership in Singapore, expands our growing international footprint and I’m excited to work with Bala and his team to help deliver their very ambitious growth plans,” he said in a statement.
PK Wong & Nair LLC (PKWN) advised A-Star Group on the acquisition with a team led by co-managing director Mark Wong and Associate Director Jacinda Wong, with support from senior associates Lim Teck Jin from the firm’s M&A team and Marianne Yeo from the real estate team.
