Electrica’s Acquisition of Wind and Solar Projects from Monsson

Berechet Rusu Hirit has advised Monsson on the sale of a 207-megawatt wind and solar project portfolio to Electrica.

Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii advised the buyer. The assets consisted of three project companies owned by Monsson: two photovoltaic parks in the Satu Mare area and a wind farm in the Dobrogea area.

Electrica is a major electricity supplier in the Romanian energy market that was incorporated in 1898 and currently serves over 3.8 million customers in the country. Stockholm-based Monsson is an international developer of renewable energy projects, boasting a portfolio of projects with a total output of over 2,400 megawatts.

The Berechet Rusu Hirit team was led by partners Valentin Hirit (M&A) and Anca Rusu (energy), supported by three associates. The firm’s involvement started from the very beginning of the project and lasted until the closing of the transaction. Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii’s team included partner Sorin Vladescu and managing associates Nisa Jecu, Alexandra Peres, and Andreea Oprisan.
