BT to buy EE

Telecoms giant is set to acquire EE in a £12.5 billion deal, which will make BT the biggest communications company in Britain.

BT said in a statement: “The combination of EE and BT will provide customers with innovative, seamless services that combine the power of fibre broadband with wi-fi and advanced mobile capabilities.”

The company also said that it expects to generate around £1.6 billion extra per year in sales by the two businesses joining forces.
