Ninth Business Partner To Join Law Firm Since Start Of 2014
Leading law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has announced that it has appointed DWF’s UK Head of Pensions, Martin Jenkins, to its fast-growing London office.
Moving to Irwin Mitchell as Head of Pensions, Martin is the ninth Partner to join the firm’s Business Legal Services (BLS) division since the start of the year and joins London Partners Ayesha Hasan (Real Estate), Edward Judge (Insolvency) and Jonathan Sachs (Professional Negligence).
A member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and described in the most recent Chambers and Partners’ directory as “a very commercially savvy lawyer” with “the industry clout to get things done,” Martin has extensive experience of all aspects of pensions law across both the public and private sectors. He will join and work alongside Irwin Mitchell’s existing Pensions Partner, Nigel Bolton, who is based in the firm’s Leeds office.
Commenting on his decision to join Irwin Mitchell, Martin Jenkins said:
“Irwin Mitchell has continued to grow its business team in the last few years and I am tremendously excited about its future growth strategy and its UK investment plans. It has a clear direction and a pioneering and entrepreneurial approach which I believe puts the firm in an ideal position to take advantage of what remains to be a challenging and fast-changing commercial environment.”
Other recent Partner hires into Irwin Mitchell’s BLS division this year include Corporate & Commercial Partners Nick Dawson and Sarah Riding and Commercial Litigation Partners, Dorrien Peters and Jonathon Crook.
Niall Baker, Chief Executive of Irwin Mitchell’s Business Legal Services division, said:
“Martin is hugely experienced and a superb addition to our business division. It is vital that as Irwin Mitchell builds its reputation in the commercial arena within London and across the UK, that we continue to bring only the very best people into the firm. Quite simply, we are looking for first-class practitioners who are not only leaders in their field, but who also have a track record for delivering the highest level of client care.
“We have continued to invest in our senior team during 2014 and look forward to announcing new Partners early next year.”
Last month, Irwin Mitchell acquired Berkeley Law. The Mayfair-based firm specialises in wealth advice for high-net-worth individuals in the UK and overseas and marked the sixth acquisition by the Group since it became an Alternative Business Structure (ABS) in 2012.
