International law firm, Brown Rudnick LLP (“the Firm”) advised a syndicate of investors on the completion of a $10 million Series A fund-raising for Sheffield-based cleantech start-up, Iceotope.
The Firm advised Aster Capital, an international venture capital firm specialising in clean tech, and Ombu Group, a UK investment company committed to backing high growth technology businesses. Between them, a total of $10 million was raised, which will allow Iceotope, the environmental IT cooling specialist, to commercialise its range of sustainable IT products.
Commenting on the fund raising, Sophie McGrath, Partner in Brown Rudnick’s Corporate team, said: “We are delighted to have been able to assist Aster Capital and Ombu Group on this investment, which represents an exciting growth opportunity in the cleantech space.”
“This Series A financing demonstrates the continued appetite amongst a range of investors for the cleantech sector. This, along with the technology space more broadly, is an area that Brown Rudnick remains focused on and is well placed to provide expert legal advice in.”
Sophie McGrath led the Brown Rudnick team, which also included Associate, Alexander Riches.
