ENVIRON appoints Samuel Mason as General Counsel

ENVIRON, an international environmental, health, safety and sustainability consultancy, has announced the appointment of Samuel Mason to the newly created position of General Counsel, effective October 1. Under the direction of ENVIRON COO Thomas R. Vetrano, Sam will address the varied and complex legal needs of the firm and provide counsel to ENVIRON’s Board of Directors and global Management Committee. He will be based in the firm’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, office.
A former Partner of Philadelphia-based law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP (DB&R), Sam brings to ENVIRON a broad corporate legal resume, with over 35 years of experience in business law, mergers and acquisitions, international transactions, corporate finance and firm governance. As a Partner of DB&R, Sam served as ENVIRON’s primary external corporate counsel for more than 10 years. He earned a JD from Duke University and a BA from Haverford College and has been a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar since 1978.

In his free time, Sam serves on the Board of Kendal Corporation, a system of 13 retirement communities in eight states, and OMG Center for Collaborative Learning. His past Board service includes Germantown Friends School, Friends Fiduciary Corporation and Delaware Valley Friends School.
