The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) announced today that it has appointed Ian Russell to its board of directors.
Ian Russell is Editorial Director for Science at Oxford University Press. Russell has worked in publishing since 1996, having previously held senior roles at Institute of Physics Publishing, The Royal Society and ALPSP and non-executive positions at Portland Press, JISC and INASP.
Russell is returning to the CLA board after two years and will replace Dominic Knight, Managing Director at Palgrave Macmillan.
In addition to his role at CLA, Russell also serves on the boards of the Publishers Licensing Society (PLS) and the International STM Association.
CLA Chairman, Tom Bradley, said: “We are delighted to welcome back Ian. His experience and knowledge gained from directorships at the Publishers Licensing Society (PLS), the International STM Association and previously at Portland Press, JISC and INASP make him ideally placed for the CLA board.
Bradley added: “The board and I are confident that Ian will add significant value, with his innate ability to bring fresh insights into ongoing problem solving.”
