Promotions at Gillespie Macandrew
28 Mar, 2013
Law firm Gillespie Macandrew has announced important promotions in two of its key sector groups.
John Norrie has been promoted to Legal Director, a new senior post, to lead the firm’s Employment Law service, an expanding area of business for its Commercial sector team. Alan White is also promoted to Legal Director, in the Land & Rural Business team, along with colleague Chloe Johnson who is made an Associate. These latter two promotions reflect the importance of this sector to the firm, which continues to invest in this particular area, following on from its opening last year of a Perth office primarily to service clients in the Land & Rural Business sector.
In addition, ten solicitors at Gillespie Macandrew have been appointed as senior solicitors, another newly created level.
Managing partner, Ian Turnbull, states: “We are continuing to focus on developing our core sectors including Land & Rural Business, Energy and Natural Resources, Commercial, Housebuilder and Construction, Private Client and Charities. These latest promotions recognise the talent within the firm who are helping drive this focus, which has seen an increase in business in all areas. It also demonstrates we are a firm that nurtures talent and recognises it. Chloe, for example, started with Gillespie Macandrew as a trainee in 2007.
“The expansion of our career structure, with two new levels of Legal Director and senior solicitor, means we can offer an attractive path within the firm for those who are showing most promise and who have the capacity to take on extra responsibilities which reflect their particular skill sets. This is an important factor in underpinning our aim of continuing to grow Gillespie Macandrew.”
