Outstanding Professional Services campaign celebrated at Marketing Excellence Awards

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has announced the winner of its Marketing Excellence Awards in the Professional Services category, with Taylor Wessing LLP honoured for its “Tech Focus” campaign.  The awards recognise achievements from across the marketing industry, celebrating exceptional campaigns that stood out from the crowd in 2012 and setting a benchmark for marketers in 2013.

 

The campaign was chosen from a shortlist of six finalists in the category, beating off competition from brands including Shoosmiths and Wright Hassall LLP. 

 

Taylor Wessing’s winning entry positioned the firm as a provider of professional services to the growing number of companies in London’s Tech City.  Tech City was launched by the UK government to create a world-leading technology centre in Shoreditch, east London, and is already one of the largest concentrations of fast-growing digital technology start-up companies in Europe. 

 

Spotting the opportunity to provide a high value service to a fast-growing part of the UK economy, Taylor Wessing’s marketing team launched its “Tech Focus” campaign.  This integrated, innovative campaign involved sales, event management, PR and social media, and has helped ensure that that the firm’s services have quickly become embedded in the Tech City infrastructure, with many companies located in the area commenting on the excellent initiatives Taylor Wessing has launched to meet their needs.

 

Anne Godfrey, Chief Executive of CIM commented, “The calibre of entries received this year demonstrates the exceptional talent of marketers working in a huge number of diverse industries from professional services to pharmaceuticals.  Whilst many marketers battle with diminishing budgets and resources, these awards are an opportunity to showcase the innovative campaigns that are achieving real success against a backdrop of adversity.”

The Marketing Team of the Year award was handed to M&C Saatchi, on behalf of Olympic Delivery Authority/TfL, for their ‘Get Ahead of the Games’ campaign, designed to keep London moving during the 2012 Olympics. British Red Cross, in partnership with Force-7 and ChannelFlip, received the Chair’s Award for their social marketing ‘Life. Live it.’ campaign, helping to reinvent first-aid for the 21st century, while Debansu Das was named Marketer of the Year for his work as Head of Marketing at social housing company SitexOrbis.
