McGuireWoods Expands London Office with Two New Hires

12 Feb, 2013

McGuireWoods has expanded its private wealth services practice in London with the arrival of Hed Amitai and Claire Trotel. Hed joins the firm as a partner while Claire is an associate.

Hed provides tax and wealth structuring advice for internationally mobile high-net-worth individuals and their families. Most recently, Hed was a partner with Maitland in London. At McGuireWoods, Hed and Claire will join a longstanding private wealth services practice, which has ample experience in representing the firm’s national and international clients.

“The arrival of both Hed and Claire to our firm adds a tremendous amount of strength to our practice,” said Philip Newhouse, London office managing partner and a member of the Private Wealth Services team in London. “Hed’s experience in handing such a wide variety of the complex issues will no doubt benefit our clients as we continue to grow this practice.”

Hed commented, “I was very impressed with the talent available at McGuireWoods and the firm’s commitment to the private wealth services market and overall client service, both here in Europe and in the United States. Claire and I are both looking forward to joining this dynamic team.”

Claire has spent the last five years as a solicitor with Snow Hill Legal, where she worked on a wide spectrum of issues, including wills, probate, trusts and inheritance and lifetime tax planning. Claire qualified as a solicitor in 2004.
