Further expansion for Kennedys in Dubai
14 Feb, 2013
Two UK-based Kennedys’ partners have relocated to the firm’s Dubai office in a move that signals the firm’s continued growth in the Middle-East.
Peter Ellingham and Andrew MacCuish join Dubai office founding partners Nick Carnell and Mark Wilson, who established the office in 2006.
Peter Ellingham transfers from the insurance team in London. He began his Kennedys career as a trainee in 1988, joining the partnership in 1996. Financial Lines expert Peter will now apply his London market experience to expand Kennedys’ insurance offering across the region.
Andrew MacCuish joined Kennedys in 2910 and moves from the firm’s construction team in Sheffield. His practice ranges from drafting project documentation to construction/engineering advice and disputes. He has a long involvement in the Middle East, having advised Kuwaiti oil interests in the lead-up to and after the 1991 Gulf War, and has recently spent an increasing amount of time based with clients in he region.
Peter Ellingham said: “The insurance market in Dubai and the Middle East continues to develop. Kennedys’ expansion has always been predicated on our clients’ requirements and this is another example of our responsiveness to both our clients and the markets they operate in. The expanded Dubai office will work closely with Kennedys’ Indian associate firm, Tuli & Co, to provide services to the insurance market across the Gulf region.”
Kennedts’ Dubai office is situated next to the Dubai International Financial Centre at the heart of Dubai’s legal and financial community and is the base from which the firm services work throughout the UAE and Middle East. The arrival of Peter and Andrew takes the Dubai office headcount up to 11, with further appointments expected in 2013.
