16 Jan, 2013

International law firm Salans has appointed Peter Kubina as a Partner to its Slovakian Banking and Finance Practice Group. He is based in the Bratislava office.

Kubina is an expert in banking and finance transactions (including corporate lending, real estate finance, project & asset finance, and capital markets), dispute resolution matters (both litigation and arbitration), and also M&A transactions in the real estate sector. He has been recognised as one of the leading lawyers in these sectors by Chambers Global and Chambers Europe.

Kubina has a Doctor’s degree (JUDr., 2007) from the Comenius University in Bratislava and is a member of the Slovak Bar Association. He joins Salans from Allen & Overy.

Ladislav Štorek, Managing Partner of Salans Prague and Bratislava offices, said: “I am delighted to welcome Peter to Salans’ Bratislava office. His arrival is a great example of Salans’ ability to continue to attract highly regarded senior lawyers who are able to see their future and potential for growth with us. It is clear that our long-term strategy to build a strong platform in the CEE region and a very solid client portfolio has been successful, as we have been able to overcome the challenges of the economic downturn and focus again on further expansion.”

Peter Kubina said: “I am excited to join Salans in Bratislava as I am particularly attracted by the firm’s traditionally strong position in Central and Eastern Europe and the emphasis which it puts on its work in this region. This distinguishes Salans from a number of other international law firms in the market and represents a sound basis for further growth.”
