RPC appoints Senior Advisor in Hong Kong

29 Nov, 2012

UK law firm, RPC (Reynolds Porter Chamberlain LLP), has appointed Davide De Rosa as a Senior Advisor to be based in their recently opened Hong Kong office.

Davide joins RPC in Hong Kong just two months after the firm launched an office in association with Smyth & Co, a Hong Kong solicitors firm, with an initial team of 40 people.  He joins from law firm De Bedin & Lee’s Hong Kong office. Prior to this he was at Clyde & Co, also in Hong Kong.  Davide qualified as a lawyer in Italy.

The main focus of Davide’s practice will be advising Italian businesses with dealings in China.  He will be working closely with partner Jason Carmichael, who advises clients in Hong Kong and China on corporate issues such as joint ventures, shareholders agreements, corporate restructurings and the establishment of retail networks across Asia.

Partner David Smyth, Principal of Smyth & Co, comments: “We are delighted that Davide is joining the team.  His understanding of the issues facing Italian businesses operating in Asia will be a significant asset for RPC.”

“We offer Italian businesses looking to expand into the Asian market all the advice they need to establish their operations, commence business and make a success of their venture.”

Davide De Rosa comments: “Many Italian businesses have been very successful in operating in the Asian market through the Hong Kong hub, particularly those in manufacturing, fashion, cars, food & drink and other consumer products.  We are also expecting to see continued high demand from Italian manufacturers who are shifting some of their existing production or setting up new production units in China.”

“I’m very exciting to be working with the team at Smyth & Co and RPC to provide exceptional service standards for Italian businesses with Hong Kong and Chinese expansion plans.”
