New joiner at Charles Russell to be Head of Immigration
20 Nov, 2012
Charles Russell LLP are delighted to announce the arrival of Shahram Taghavi, who has joined Charles Russell as Head of Immigration. Shahram specialises in all aspects of immigration, public law and human rights, with over 18 years’ experience.
Shahram is experienced in both personal and business immigration and his arrival completes the growing immigration practice at Charles Russell.
On the business immigration side, he advises multi-national companies, law firms and financial institutions on recruitment of migrants workers, international transfer of workers, sponsor licence applications, auditing HR practices and procedures, immigration compliance training and ad hoc advice for HR personnel.
On the personal immigration side, Shahram’s experience is broad including acting for a range of individuals (investors, entrepreneurs, musicians, artists, actors, spouses, partners, extended family members and students) on all aspects of UK immigration and litigation (appeals, judicial review of licence revocations or visa refusals, applications to the European Court of Human Rights and references to the Court of Justice of the European Union). His experience will be a valuable addition to our existing ultra high net worth personal immigration offering, which has grown rapidly over the past 5 years led by Piers Master. Piers and Shahram will work closely together on personal immigration matters relevant to ultra high net worth individuals, and particularly on investor visas, in view of the combination of personal tax and immigration expertise required best to serve clients applying for these visas.
Commenting on his appointment, Shahram said: “I am pleased to be joining the team at Charles Russell. The key attraction for me was the ability to offer both the personal and business side of immigration. Each aspect has unique and subtle differences, so it is important to be part of a team that understands the challenges, and, with Charles Russell’s renowned Private Client and Corporate practices, we can offer a complete service, stemming far beyond the pure immigration issues.”
