Leading business law firm, DWF, has recruited consumer credit specialist, Leanne Grunnill, as an associate in the national financial services team.

Leanne has significant experience in the financial services industry, having spent 16 years working for major finance companies as a compliance manager/in-house solicitor. She has successfully navigated organisations through legislative and regulatory regimes, including the implementation of the Consumer Credit Directive. Her areas of specialism include all aspects of OFT and FSA-regulated products, complaints handling and the Financial Ombudsman Scheme, as well as data protection, fraud prevention and anti-money laundering issues.

This latest appointment by DWF is one of a number of recent strategic hires into the financial services team, which operates nationally and continues to go from strength-to-strength, advising high profile clients, including major clearing banks, building societies, finance houses and leasing companies.

Janet Dalton, technical director of the financial services division at DWF, said: “Leanne has spent many years as an in-house solicitor and so has a real appreciation of the regulatory and legislative issues that companies have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. She has hands-on understanding of transactional asset finance work and is extremely experienced in all things consumer credit-related. She joins a growing specialist asset finance team”.

Leanne commented: “I’m looking forward to being able to apply the significant experience that I have gained over my many years in-house within a private practice setting. It’s especially exciting to be able to use my expertise as part of such a driven and dedicated sector team. I’m eager to contribute to DWF’s continuing success and help to drive growth going forward.”
