Leading Leeds commercial solicitors Shulmans has recruited a new partner for its Corporate Finance team in response to its continually growing client base.

Christian Peace, described in the Legal 500 (2012 edition) as “highly skilled” and someone who “always does an excellent job”, joins the firm from Lee & Priestley LLP, where he worked his way up the corporate ladder from trainee solicitor to being the youngest partner in the firm.

He brings with him significant experience in advising on all forms of corporate transactional work, including acquisitions and disposals, venture capital investments, MBOs, MBIs, joint ventures, de-mergers and company restructurings, leading on deals with values of up to £30m. He has particular expertise in the retail pharmacy sector, having advised on almost 100 pharmacy transactions, and led Lee & Priestley’s nationally respected Pharmacy team.

Andrew Bradley, Head of Corporate Finance said: “We’re delighted to welcome Christian to the team, not least because of his experience in the Healthcare sector, which remains very active. Targeting this niche market has proved extremely successful and we anticipate plenty of future activity, particularly as a result of consolidation in the sector.”

Christian, 33, lives near York with his wife and one year old son.  He said: “Joining Shulmans is a great opportunity for me and I hope to make a significant contribution to the Corporate Finance team.”
