FTC COMMISSIONER WILL HEADLINE PANEL DISCUSSION DURING ANTITRUST NETWORKING EVENT

Commissioner Maureen Ohlhausen of the Federal Trade Commission will headline a panel discussion on key antitrust and intellectual property developments at “Mixing Antitrust and IP: A Social Mixer” from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, in Washington, D.C.
The panel will also include Renata Hesse, deputy assistant attorney general at the Department of Justice, and Gail Levine, vice president and associate general counsel, IP, at Verizon Communications. The panelists will speak from 6 – 6:30 p.m.
Koren Wong-Ervin of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati will serve as emcee for the event, which includes a networking component.
Commissioner Ohlhausen will discuss the FTC’s recent activity in standard setting; Hesse will talk about the Department of Justice’s recent proposals for standard-setting organizations, or SSOs; and Levine will address how competition policy has shaped patent law.
