Winston & Strawn LLP announced today Michael Madden has been named as the new office managing partner for Winston’s London office.  Michael Madden replaces Thomas Benz who has been a partner with the firm since 2003. Mr. Benz will continue to concentrate his practice in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, securities, commercial lending and corporate finance transactions, along with other responsibilities.

“Tom Benz’s extensive experience in international corporate matters and dedication to our strategic direction in the European market have made him a key member of our management team and we are grateful for his years of service,” said Thomas Fitzgerald, managing partner, Winston & Strawn. “We are extremely pleased Michael Madden has agreed to take on this new leadership role.”

Mr. Madden leads the firm’s commercial litigation presence in London. His extensive experience includes work with clients in the United States, in continental European and Asian business centers as the lead partner in disputes involving corporate acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures in various industries.  Mr. Madden received an L.L.B. from the University of London (London School of Economics).

“I’m pleased to join Winston’s management team and to continue the fine work Tom Benz has done for the London office,” said Madden.
