Toys R Us latest to be sued in tablet patent wars
25 Sep, 2012
The seemingly ever-lasting ‘patent wars’ among some of the world’s biggest TMT companies has now reached the world of children’s toys. Toys R Us is being sued in the United States for alleged trade secret theft from a former partner.
The product in dispute is the Tabeo, a child-targeted tablet computer, the design of which is among the aspects that Fuhu, is claiming was stolen by the world-famous toy store chain. Fuhu, which created the Nabi tablet, also claims that the Toys R Us device imitates Nabi’s online services and the user-experience.
A deal which allowed Toys R Us to sell Fuhu’s product in the states expired recently, leaving the former open to such allegations.
