Articled with Keeble Hawson solicitors in Sheffield, Tim was admitted as a solicitor in 1988. He worked in private practice in Poole, Dorset and has practised as a crown prosecutor in Dorset for the past twenty years. Tim is the Law Society council member for Dorset and the current president of Dorset Law Society.
Tim has a special interest in EU criminal justice issues and currently sits on the Law Society Criminal Law Committee and EU Committee. He is the past-chair of the Council Membership Committee and current chair of the Council Members Conduct Committee.
Commenting on his election as treasurer and chair of the Management Board, Tim O’Sullivan said:
‘One of the main challenges of Management Board is managing the Society’s finances so that it is no longer so reliant on the PC fee. This is key to funding all our aspirations for our representative and policy work. It is my intention to work with management on a commercial strategy to boost the Society’s finances and I will be paying attention to a number of potential initiatives to achieve this.’
