New Head of Legal at NSPCC
06 Sep, 2012
Alexis Burnetts, who joined the NSPCC in March 2011, has been appointed Head of Legal at the leading children’s charity.
Alexis, who was in-house solicitor at the National Childminding Association before joining the NSPCC, will lead a team of nine lawyers and support staff. She takes on this role following the departure of Catherine Dixon, Director of Legal and Governance, who left earlier this year to take up a new post as Chief Executive at the NHS Litigation Authority.
Alexis, who is also a trustee and vice-chair of the Luton Law Centre and trained and qualified at Berwin Leighton Paisner, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to take on this role at such a fantastic organisation which is highly respected in the world of child protection. We have an excellent legal team which will be a privilege to lead.”
David Roberts, Director of Corporate Services, said: “Alexis is heading a very talented pool of lawyers who will continue to carry out vital work which benefits some of the most vulnerable children in the country.
Alexis has been Acting Head of Legal since Catherine’s departure and has done an excellent job. Following an internal recruitment process Alexis was appointed and I am sure she will be a great success in her new role.”
