Michelmores boosts London office with senior lateral hires

Leading law firm Michelmores has continued to expand its London office with the addition of two senior lateral hires, Chris Willison and Alex Wood. 

 

Chris, who specialises in banking and asset-based lending work, an area in which he has 20 years’ experience, joins as a partner. He previously headed the asset-based lending team at Blake Lapthorn and is a former finance law partner at Hammonds and Vice President Legal of GMAC Commercial Finance Plc.

 

In addition to being a qualified UK solicitor, Chris is qualified as a solicitor, barrister and Notary Public in the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada.

 

Alex joins Michelmores’ London-based restructuring and insolvency team as an Associate.  Alex was previously Managing Associate at Addleshaw Goddard and has 10 years’ experience in corporate recovery and restructuring, advising on all aspects of cross border and domestic transactions and fraud litigation. 

 

Additionally, Alex will provide support to Michelmores’ banking, corporate and property-focused teams, advising lenders, investors and insolvency practitioners in relation to distressed companies.

Michelmores’ London office, at 48 Chancery Lane, now has 5 partners and a further 5 fee earners, with 5 support staff.  The firm as a whole has 47 partners, 115 other fee-earners and a total staff complement of 329.
