Adam & Company is delighted to announce the appointments of Linda Urquhart OBE and Alexa Henderson as Non-Executive Directors to the Adam Board of Directors*. In their roles, Linda and Alexa will support the board on strategy, financial performance, risk issues and remuneration across the business.


Linda Urquhart started her early career as a solicitor at Morton Fraser, moving on to become Chief Executive – a position she held from 1999 to 2011. Linda has a number of Non-Executive roles, comprising Chairman of Morton Fraser, Non-Executive Board Member of the CBI and Chairman of Investors in People Scotland. She is also a Member of UK Commission for Employment and Skills Investors in People Advisory Board, a Member of the Development Board of The Prince’s Trust Scotland and an Ambassador for Girlguiding UK.


Linda was awarded an OBE for services to business in the New Year Honours list 2012, Association of Scottish Businesswomen’s Outstanding Contribution to Business Award 2009 and the Insider Magazine – Corporate Elite Readers’ Award 2003.


Alexa Henderson qualified as a Chartered Accountant, working with KPMG and Arthur Anderson primarily in a financial services audit capacity. She later joined Bankers Trust of New York / Deutsche Bank, where she worked from 1986 to 2003, most recently as a Managing Director in the Investment Performance Business. In this role, Alexa was responsible for the business providing investment performance services, accounting and valuation services to pension funds and investment managers.


Alexa joined the Board of the Scottish Building Society in 2001, has chaired the Audit Committee, the ALCO and held the position of Vice Chairman for four years until taking over as Chairman of the Society in May 2011. She is also a representative of the Stewart Ivory Foundation which raises financial awareness among young people.
