Earnest Financial Group, a specialised audit and tax firm, has joined regional and tax firm VDB Loi, effective 1 July 2012. VDB Loi Myanmar will provide cutting-edge tax advisory, tax and accounting compliance, and legal advisory services.
In addition to local partner, Thida Cho Win an ACCA qualified CPA with 25 years of experience in Myanmar tax and accounting matters and four local associates, VDB Loi has deployed Tax Manager Cynthia Herman to the Yangon office.
Herman is a qualified CPA from the UK with over five years of advisory experience with KPMG, DFDL and VDB Loi. In conjunction with Partners Edwin Vanderbruggen and Jean Loi, and Director Huy C. Luu, Herman has advised oil companies, oilfield service providers, distribution companies and private equity funds on Myanmar tax and investment matters.
“With our strong local partner, our expatriate advisers on the ground and VDB Loi’s more than five years of experience advising on taxation in Myanmar, our new team is poised to become the country’s leading international tax outfit,” said Jean Loi, Managing Partner, VDB Loi. “In terms of market for quality tax and legal services, Myanmar is not the next Cambodia, it is the next Thailand.”
This marks the first step of VDB Loi’s commitment to Myanmar and forms a solid basis for expanding the company’s legal advisory services to Myanmar in the near future.
VDB Loi is one of Southeast Asia’s fastest growing legal and tax services firms with more than 50 outstanding local and international consultants.
