Former Prison Officer Joins Leading Law Firm As Commercial Property Expert
13 Jul, 2012
Former prison officer, Kevin Joynes, has joined leading regional law firm, Harrison Clark’s Commercial Property team.
Kevin qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and has joined Harrison Clark as a Senior Associate at its Worcester office. He specialises in residential, commercial and mixed-use development work, having substantial experience across a range of property transactions.
He has particular expertise in the house building sector where he has for the last eleven years acted for most of the UK’s top ten volume house builders, as well as smaller regional developers.
The role involves frequently drafting and negotiating option agreements and conditional contracts for the acquisition and disposal of development land. Kevin has also drafted and negotiated development agreements for major projects and regeneration schemes involving both residential and commercial elements, as well as advising developers on planning and infrastructure agreements, site assembly and compulsory purchase orders.
Kevin has acted for both private and public sector clients on many high profile developments including the new £400m Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Edgbaston and the recent development of Edgbaston cricket ground.
He lives in Beoley, Worcestershire and has previously worked in the Birmingham offices of Eversheds, Gateleys and Pinsent Masons. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Kevin worked as a Prison Officer at HMP Blakenhurst in Redditch.
“I am thrilled to be joining the region’s leading law firm and adding to the expertise and strength of the commercial property team.
“There is a great deal of development and regeneration planned in Worcester in the coming months and years and I am looking forward to playing my part in that.
“The Localism agenda is also changing the development landscape and is providing opportunities of which local communities can take advantage. I am looking forward to leading such projects, both large and small.”
