DWF Strengthens Birmingham Offering With Eversheds Partner
12 Jun, 2012
Leading business law firm, DWF, has further invested in its high profile employment and pensions team, with the lateral hire of Mark Hammerton from Eversheds, who joins the firm as a Partner.
The news comes shortly after DWF completed its merger with highly regarded insurance and litigation specialists Buller Jeffries. The merger followed the opening a DWF Birmingham office last August, and the appointment of Asset Finance specialist Joanne Davis and her team from Shoosmiths.
Based in DWF’s Birmingham office and with a national role, Mark will be supporting the UK wide team of employment and pensions specialists. It is the second high profile appointment to be made recently in DWF’s Birmingham office, as it was announced last month that asset finance specialist, Rachael Browning, had joined as part of the banking & finance team.
Mark has over 15 years’ experience in employment law, assisting major public and private sector clients in a wide variety of HR challenges. These have included major restructuring operations, outsourcing, acquisitions and disposals, changes to terms and conditions, equal pay litigation, and sensitive grievance and disciplinary matters.
Mark’s experience will complement that of the established employment group which offers clients advice on a wide range of issues, from director’s duties and compromise agreements to pension scheme mergers, reconstructions and terminations. The group is headed up nationally by Kirsty Rogers, providing high profile clients with a full range of services, including guidance on HR strategy, efficiency, and day-to-day workplace issues.
National Head of Employment and Pensions Kirsty Rogers said: “Mark’s appointment will bolster the employment offering even further, and will bring added strength to the team as a whole but particular in Birmingham. His experience in public sector, major HR change projects and international issues will bring additional expertise to the group, and his experience of speaking at large conferences and connecting with the audience will be a real asset.”
Mark added: “The DWF employment and pensions team is renowned for its exceptional work across the country. I look forward to working with such an experienced and able team and am excited to be joining a firm that is committed to delivering excellent service within a variety of sector specialisms.”
