DAC Beachcroft appoints new Madrid managing partner

22 May, 2012

International law firm DAC Beachcroft LLP has appointed Enrique Gich as the new managing partner of its Madrid office.

Enrique took over from Ignacio Figuerol, who has led the office for the last four years, with effect from 1 May.  Enrique has been a partner with the firm for seven years and his background is in high-value international disputes, involving mainly insurance, energy and construction matters.

He has been closely involved in the development of the firm’s Mexico office and will continue to maintain close links with its various Latin American offices in his new role.

Commenting on his appointment, Enrique said: “I hope to continue the good example set by Ignacio as the leader of the Madrid office and to grow closer relationships with our clients and offices around the world, particularly in Latin America.”

Paul Murray, Managing Partner of DAC Beachcroft, said: “Ignacio has been a great leader for the Madrid office over the past four years and I have no doubt that Enrique will rise to the high standard set by his predecessor.”

He added: “Spain is an important region in which we need to be able to serve our clients, particularly international insurance companies, and Madrid will continue to play a key role in the development of DAC Beachcroft’s global network.”

Ignacio will continue to work with his clients in the insurance sector as part of the firm’s global group.

DAC Beachcroft’s Madrid office advises clients and international companies with business interests in Spain on insurance, dispute resolution, corporate law, real estate and employment matters.  In particular, the firm is widely regarded, including by Chambers and Legal 500, as the top insurance practice in Spain.  Established in 1989, the office now has a team of over 40 lawyers.
