Formally Global Head of the Hedge Funds Practice at Walkers, he has extensive experience advising investment funds and corporate clients including the Blackstone Group, Blackrock and UBS. Joss previously worked in Walkers’ Cayman Islands Finance & Corporate and Private Equity groups and is admitted as an attorney in the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands.
The Firm’s Corporate practice is strengthened further by the appointment of three experienced associates. Jonathan Tonge, Managing Partner, Jersey, commented: “I am delighted to have joined the firm’s Jersey office, where we will be working to develop further Walkers’ Jersey funds, finance and corporate practices, alongside our highly regarded disputes team. The Firm is seeing an increasing number of international clients who see Jersey as an attractive jurisdiction in which to do business, with great potential for growth. Because of Jersey’s geographic location, it appeals to clients operating across multiple jurisdictions. These appointments reflect our commitment to meeting these increased and changing client demands, as well as injecting additional strength and breadth to our capabilities in these practices.
We are also extremely pleased to welcome Alex Carus, Mark Crichton and Johanna Hendry to further increase our skills and depth of experience in this field. The move by Joss Morris, with the focus on the Global Commonwealth of Independent States and Central & Eastern Europe Group, reflects our desire to build on our niche strength in Central and Eastern European finance and corporate work, as well as adding additional depth to our multi-jurisdictional experience in Jersey.”
