Forresters, a leading intellectual property law firm with offices in London, Birmingham and Merseyside, has again expanded its network by opening a branch in Munich.

The Munich office is headed up by partner Matt Barton and is conveniently located within walking distance of the European Patent Office, which handles applications for patents in up to 40 European countries.

Matt said: “Munich is one of Europe’s main locations for innovations in business and industry, and has strong links to the UK and London. Our new office will enable us to assist clients, both in Germany and at home, to protect their products, brands and trademarks.”

Jon Gowshall, Forresters managing partner, in London, said: “Our new office is an exciting opportunity and offers our clients easier access to our services and expertise. We look forward to creating and strengthening relationships with the European business community.”

The new office will help Forresters to forge strong links with both the German business community, as well as British companies looking to trade in mainland Europe. The new opening comes just six months after the opening of a Forresters office in Merseyside, marking a period of rapid expansion for the firm, which was established in Birmingham as Ketley’s in 1884. It is now one of the UK’s leading intellectual property specialists employing around 100 people in the country, and with offices and associates worldwide.

Forresters is ranked as one of the top intellectual property law firms in the UK and has represented high profile cases at the House of Lords (now known as The Supreme Court).

The Munich office is situated at: Skygarden, Erika-Mann-Str. 11, 80636 Munich, Germany. Opened on 2nd April 2012, the office can be reached on +49 (0) 89 2441 299 0 or fax +49 (0) 89 2441 299 10.
