BPP University College launches enhanced degree programme for 2012 with new fees of £5,000 per year

BPP University College, a leading private provider of higher education, today (Sept 6th) announced its new undergraduate degree programme for 2012/13:

         ·            Tuition fees to be £5,000 per year for its 3 year degree (£15,000 whole programme)

         ·            For its 2 year degree, tuition fees will be £6,000 per year (£12,000 whole programme)

         ·            A new career and employability benefits package built in to all undergraduate degrees

Fees

The tuition fees come into effect from September 2012 and will apply to all BPP’s undergraduate programmes in law, business, accountancy and finance, across all 6 of its city centre locations that currently offer degrees – Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, London, Swindon and Manchester.

Following an increase in students wanting to study for a shorter time period and nearer to home, BPP has extended its 2 year degree programme to all 6 centres this year, and in response to student demand and affordability has priced this at a lower fee of £12,000 for the whole programme.

Career and employability support built into degree

From 2012, all undergraduate students who opt to study at BPP will be able to tap into a range of resources that strongly focus on future employability and career development.  These will include pre-arranged work placements during holidays; a dedicated careers consultancy before during and after study; access to employers and professional bodies, and exemptions from assessments towards accountancy or other certified qualifications.

Carl Lygo, CEO of BPP University College (pictured) said:

“Our mission is to challenge the educational status quo by providing an affordable, high quality career focussed degree.   We have designed our  2 and 3 year programmes to enable students to graduate with a practical head start in their chosen career without a mountain of debt.  UK undergraduates who are mindful of keeping other costs down, like accommodation, have the option to live at home and study at one of our city centres across the UK.  With our 2 year accelerated degree, studying throughout the summer enables people to get into the job market  more quickly, and also avoid an extra year of costs.

Universities have been forced, many for the first time, to make some tough decisions in order to compete in a changing and challenging environment.  At the heart of this is the student, who deserves value for money and the chance to improve their employability prospects and, as a sector, we mustn’t lose sight of this.

Our heritage as a professional training organisation in the fields of law and accountancy are just two of the ways in which we have forged strong links to employers.  We’re bringing all this expertise into our undergraduate programmes in the form of some practical and invaluable real life support.”

BPP’s programmes can be studied online, part-time, or full-time over 2 or 3 years. UK students who apply to study any of BPP’s degrees from September 2012 will be eligible for government loans of up to £6,000 per year, as announced by David Willetts in April this year*.
